Long ago around about the year 1884 there lived a carpenter named Shoramji Jangrid in Ramgad village of Churu District of Rajasthan. He had three sons namely Keshavramji, Baluramji and Gulabji. Keshavramji and Baluramji were great artisans who had crafted a pure silver made small moving train attached with boogies carrying edibles kept on the round table of the then king of Ramgad.
Rumors had it that if the British Government knows about this, they would chop off their hands. In worry and haste, the two brothers fled out of town. They travelled village after village on foot and reached Khamgaon (Maharashtra). Baluramji returned to Ramgad, while Keshavramji and his wife settled at Khamgaon itself.
With little money, both husband and wife started silver artisan work in the Sarafa( Jewelry) market of Khamgaon. Keshavramji adopted one of the four sons of Baluramji and entrusted the legacy of his family business to Jawaharmalji.
Jawaharmalji expanded the silver business manifold and proposed Mr. Modi (A goldsmith who was their then neighbor) to enter into partnership. With his capital of 39,400, Jawaharlalji established a workshop with a few machines and dyes.
One of three sons of Mr. Jawaharlalji named Chiranjilalji took over the family business. He started expanding the business but died at an early age of 55 years. During his lifetime, only his son, Jagdish Prasad took over in the year 1960 at the age of just 18 years.
Jagdish Prasad also known as the "Iron Man of Silver World" was a visionary man. He stressed on purity, integrity, honesty and workmanship. The manufactured articles of Shri Vishwakarma Silver House are pure to the extent of 99.50 percent which exceeds hallmark with 92 percent purity. In 1976, he launched a very unique product which became a hot seller in the market. It was silver - coated plastic boxes of different sizes used for distribution of dry fruits and nuts etc.
There are two sons of Jagdish Prasad namely Dr. Kamal Jangrid - the elder son and Mr. Ajay Jangrid - the younger son. Dr. Kamal Jangrid is an M.B.B.S and he was pursuing his M.D course when he decided to quit his studies midway and join his father's hand in the year 1993 in running SVSH. Another firm was established by Jagdish Prasad in the name and style of Shri Vishwakarma Silver Emporium at Mumbai. Mr. Ajay looks after it.
Dr. Kamal has already associated his elder son Rahul who is a business graduate from Poddar International, Mumbai after the sad demise of Jagdish Prasad with SVSH thus introducing the seventh generation of his family in the family business.
